This Key Learning Area aims to give students the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their lifestyle in youth and into the future. In practical classes, the focus is on participation, physical skill development and social skills.
Studies in this area can lead to training in the health and wellbeing sector, the fitness industry, education, environmental management and environmental studies.
Students must complete at least 4 PE and Health units in their Personal Learning Program across Years 8 & 9.
Students must have full Brauer College PE uniform and participate fully in each practical class.
Acceptance into additional / non-compulsory units is dependent on the recommendations of the Physical Education teacher. This recommendation will be based on students meeting uniform requirements and participating fully in all aspects of classes at previous levels.
Advance is a select entry program that will run over 2 semesters. The course will begin in Semester 2 and students will complete the program in Semester 1 of the following year. Applications are make through the Program Coordinator separately from Subject Selection, contact the PE Dept for more information.
SIP is a select entry program that will runs thrrough Year 7 - 12 in a range of units. Applications are made to the SIP coordinator separately from Subject Selection, contact Mr Jackson for any information.
