This unit is designed to prepare students for VCE Health and Human Development Units 1 and 2. Students completing the unit gain a Level 2 Workplace First Aid Certificate.

Being in optimal health requires a variety of approaches to improving and maintaining health. This unit aims to broaden students'' knowledge and skills in the various factors that contribute to being healthy and safe.

Students will develop an understanding of what it means to be healthy and the factors and skills that contribute. They will develop an awareness and understanding of lifestyle diseases and the leading causes of disease burden within Australia. Students will learn and gain the skills and knowledge necessary to gain a Nationally accredited First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) and investigate trauma style injuries.

The unit cost indicated is the 2024 fee. Please note that all unit fees are currently being reviewed and 2025 costs will be provided once approved by School Council.
