Japanese

The language offered at Brauer is Japanese.

Japanese is one of the few areas where units must be taken completely sequentially.  Students who might want to do Japanese at VCE level must complete the Level B, C and D prerequisite units: Japanese 1 (08LJ1); Japanese 2 (09LJ1); Japanese 3 (10LJ1); and Japanese 4 (10LJ2).

Starting Japanese at Level B does not commit a student to doing it right through the four units.

As there are four units to be completed in the six-semester program, students can spread their study over three years.  They may also complete units 1-4 in Years 8 & 9 and then begin VCE studies in Year 10.

To Prepare For VCE

If you wish to do Japanese at VCE level, you must have completed the four sequential units: Japanese 1 to Japanese 4.  However, this may be done in many ways, Japanese 3 & 4 must be completed in the same year however.
