This unit enables the students to further develop skills in design, construction and self-evaluation. Students will have the opportunity to complete a basic Hoodie followed by an individual creative Hoodie. Students are required to purchase their own fabric, threads, pattern and notions for each unit of work. The teacher will instruct the student when to purchase the fabric. Each student is required to have their own equipment in a secure bag or container.

What design and construction features are needed for a weather-protective garment?

Students will learn about the planning and designing skills needed to construct a “hoodie”. Construction techniques for cutting, pinning, joining, overlocking, neatening, shaping and fitting garments will be explored. Students will be taught how to complete a detailed self-evaluation.

The unit cost indicated is the 2024 fee. Please note that all unit fees are currently being reviewed and 2025 costs will be provided once approved by School Council.
