Environmental science is the study of the natural environment. The study explores how humans have changed and continue to change environments and the consequences of these changes in local and global contexts, focussing on biodiversity, pollution, food and water security, climate change and energy use. Pathways in environmental science include, atmospheric sciences, ecology, environmental chemistry, geosciences and can lead to careers including environmental law, engineering, environmental consultancy, government policy development, industrial management, landscape design, regional and urban planning, and teaching and research.
