The visual presentation of information influences people's choices on what they think they need and want. Visual Communication covers the three areas of design – Communication (Advertising/Logo design/Illustration) Industrial (Car/Furniture/Fashion/etc.) and Environmental (Internal and External building design/Architecture/Internal design/Stage design).

Everything you see has design. Whether you are interested in designing cars, architecture, clothing or even computer games and avatars this subject will assist you to take a step towards your design career!

With a focus on design elements and principles to develop your ideas, students will trial different media and techniques. You will also be introduced to appropriate technical drawing conventions both freehand and digital.
Students will cover many aspects of design, including Technical drawing – two-point perspective and orthographic projection. Communication design focusing on creating a digital avatar. Industrial design – designing and creating a pair of amazing runners and Environmental design – Designing your ideal cubby house and making a prototype.

The unit cost indicated is the 2024 fee. Please note that all unit fees are currently being reviewed and 2025 costs will be provided once approved by School Council.
