Completion of VET Building & Construction 1

This Certificate II is a nationally-recognised qualification issued by a registered training organisation. The VET Building & Construction program covers a wide range of work areas within the furnishing industry, particularly cabinet making of all types. The Certificate II in Furnishing provides a pathway into a furnishing apprenticeship (or building construction). This program will provide students with a high degree of skills, knowledge of timber and other furnishing materials, and an ability to read plans while working on a range of projects.

How do I get qualified in the woodworking area?

Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship - AIET has partnered with your school to deliver this qualification. On successful completion of your VET course, you will gain two credentials when you finish school; your senior secondary certificate and a nationally recognised qualification from AIET. This qualification provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this Certificate II allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery and shopfitting as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.
