Students will learn: how to use basic woodwork tools, machinery and equipment; ways of connecting timber; the design process; the basic principles of occupational health and safety; and the application of finishing techniques.
They will also develop an understanding The ways metal can be used in engineering and design and ways to manipulate and connect metals. This includes basic oxy-acetylene, manual metal arc and gas metal arc welding. Sheet metal applications are also used where appropriate. Students will incorporate these skills to fabricate a variety of integrated projects.
