Law of Conservation of Mass and the rearrangement of atoms. Decomposition and displacement reactions and factors that affect them. Origins and structure of the universe including galaxies and black holes. Newtons laws of motion to analyse the relationship between force, mass and acceleration.
Chemical reactions are described by the Law of Conservation of Mass and involve the rearrangement of atoms. Representations of chemical reactions, including word and simple balanced chemical equations. Decomposition and displacement reactions classified as exothermic or endothermic. Factors that impact reaction rates including temperature, concentration, surface area of solid reactants, and catalysts.Space exploration expanding the knowledge of the origins and structure of the universe and issues to resolve the challenges of humans travelling and living away from Earths surface. Features of the universe including galaxies, stars, solar systems ad black holes and the theory of the origins of the universe. Newton’s laws of motion to explain and quantitatively analyse the relationship between force, mass and acceleration of objects.
