Satisfactory completion of this unit is required by students wishing to undertake Standard Year 9 Maths Unit 2.

Students will be able to: solve problems involving right-angled triangles using Pythagoras’ theorem and trigonometric ratios; transform triangles, explain similarity and congruence and investigate geometric properties; investigate problems requiring database inquiry as well as collect and summarise data from a variety of sources; solve problems in financial mathematics, including applications of simple and compound interest using ICT, and judge the reasonableness of results; solve problems involving linear equations and inequalities as well as substitute into and rearrange formulae; and use simplification techniques for linear and quadratic equations.

The unit cost indicated is the 2024 fee. Please note that all unit fees are currently being reviewed and 2025 costs will be provided once approved by School Council.
