The visual presentation of information influences people's choices on what they think they need and want. Visual Communication covers the three areas of design – Communication (Advertising/Logo design/Illustration) Industrial (Car/Furniture/Fashion/etc.) and Environmental (Internal and External building design/Architecture/Internal design/Stage design).

Everything you see has design. Whether you are interested in designing cars, architecture, clothing or even computer games and avatars this subject will assist you to take a step towards your design career!

With a focus on design elements and principles to develop your ideas, you will trial different media and techniques. Students will also be introduced to appropriate technical drawing conventions both freehand and digital.
Students will cover many aspects of design, including Technical drawing – One-point perspective and Paraline drawing (Isometric and Planometric). Year 9 Communication Design focuses on creating a skate deck design. Industrial design – designing a unique piece following a client brief and Environmental design – Take a look at stage design, building a diorama to make your ideas come to life!
