Unit Outline

How to use a variety of engineering processes to solve a design brief and fabricate solutions.

Full Description

Students will develop manual metal arc, gas metal arc welding process and be able to choose the correct equipment and consumables to weld safely. They will learn about different types of materials and the design process. They will incorporate these skills to fabricate several different projects. Students will also gain an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues in this industry sector.

Note: This unit will prepare the student for VET Engineering 1 and VET Engineering 2.
