| KLA | Key Learning Area |
| Level | Levels such as B, C and D show the starting difficulty of the unit which is mapped to particular AusVELS levels. |
| LOTE | Languages Other Than English (Brauer College offers Japanese.) |
| PLP | Personal Learning Program |
| SBAT | School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships |
| SEALP | Select Entry Advanced Learning Program |
| Semester | Half a year of study (2 school terms). Semester 1 = Terms 1 & 2, Semester 2 = Terms 3 & 4. |
| Unit | A semester-based area of study allocated five periods per week. (Sometimes called a subject.) |
| WPL or SWL | Structured Work Placement |
| VCAA | Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority |
