Yr 9 Digital Technology

This unit is made to build on the skills developed in �Yr 8 Digital Technologies�, however, there is no pre-requisite. Students delve further into computing, robotics and coding. Students will also further their knowledge of network systems, cyber security and binary representation. Data analytics are also further developed.

Students who undertake this unit will develop a deeper understanding of the hardware and software that makes up computers and networks. Students further their skills in data analytics and the use of Excel spreadsheets with the introduction of pivot tables and looking at real life data to draw conclusions. Students are introduced to HTML and CSS as they begin website development. The problem solving methodology is used to design, develop and evaluate projects undertaken in class with the Vex robots. Students build on their knowledge of algorithms and the Python programming language to program the Vex robots to complete tasks.
