Unit Outline

What are the major skills and strategies required to be successful in Canoeing, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer? How do the major body systems in the human body operate and what motivates individuals to participate in physical activity?

Full Description

Students will participate in a variety of sporting activities including Canoeing, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Fitness testing. Students will also have the opportunity to choose some off campus activities to allow them to experience exciting practical fitness activities facilitated by local centres. This unit includes both practical and theoretical aspects. Students will learn about the major systems in the human body and how they work in relation to physical exercise. Students will gain an understanding of the factors that influence motivation and participation in physical activity
