Unit Outline
Being in optimal health requires a variety of approaches to improving and maintaining health. This unit aims to broaden students'' knowledge and skills in the various factors that contribute to being healthy and safe.
Full Description
Students will develop an understanding of what it means to be healthy and the factors and skills that contribute. They will develop an awareness and understanding of lifestyle diseases and the leading causes of disease burden within Australia. Students will learn and gain the skills and knowledge necessary to gain a Nationally accredited First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) and investigate trauma style injuries.
Note: This unit is designed to prepare students for VCE Health and Human Development Units 1 and 2. Students completing the unit gain a Level 2 Workplace First Aid Certificate.
