Full Description

Year 10 Art is designed for students who are passionate about art and want to refine their skills in preparation for VCE Art Making and Exhibiting. Throughout the semester you will specialise in photography, printmaking and painting while developing your own artistic style and creative direction. This subject is inquiry based, encouraging you to experiment, investigate and push your ideas further through drawing, planning and visual development in your art journal. In photography, you will build advanced Photoshop editing skills, learn how to confidently use DSLR cameras and the lighting studio. In printmaking, you will develop skills in printmaking to create bold and expressive artworks using layered imagery and design techniques. In painting, you will explore both acrylic and oil painting techniques while learning how artists use colour, composition and brushwork to create visually engaging artworks. At the end of the semester, students will present a short critique of their strongest artwork and exhibit selected works in the annual end of year art exhibition. This subject is ideal for students considering a future pathway into VCE Art Making and Exhibiting.
