What skills do I need to develop in order to explore and perform my own and other people's music?
Full Description
Students will learn how to read, write, compose and perform music in class ensembles. Students will explore different styles of music and world music
The aim is for students to develop their;
•Confidence in playing an instrument and reading different forms of notation.
(You do not have to have prior experience playing a musical instrument to enrol in this class. All students will be given the opportunity to develop basic performance skills on either the keyboard, guitar, bass, drums or as a vocalist during class time. Students who already play an instrument will be given the opportunity to continue developing their skills as a musician on their chosen instrument.)
•Creative thinking skills when combining musical elements with music technology including electronic music composition
•Capacity to work collaboratively with students in both composing and class band activities.
